S106 Directors Blog

Avatar

A blog covering my experiences working as a director on S106 projects. And my work with the HPX300 and P+S Technik Mini35 combination. This is where I will post my day to day life, my experiences and other work related stuff. Erhm… I guess mostly work related stuff.

Africa again!

It seems Africa is starting to become a chapter in my life… I keep finding excuses to go back there! We just came back from a 2 week shooting period. The excuse this time is a documentary about a Dutch municipality that gives development aid to Emfuleni, located just beneath Johannesburg.

It was hard work with temperatures reaching 40 celcius but we enjoyed it very much. It was the first challenged production I have ever shot on the Sony EX1. I used two Lacie rugged disks to copy / backup the footage, and a HP netbook to do the copying. The camera does get very hot in these conditions but never gave any problems.

Here is a small clip for you to check out while we finish the editing. Meanwhile check out the gallery.
